식방풍의 혈관성 치매에 대한 예방과 치료효과 검증
초록 Objectives: During several thousand years, Peucedanum Japonicum Thunberg has been considered as a vegetable side dish in Korea. There is folk knowledge that Peucedanum Japonicum Thunberg prevents vascular disease such as stroke. To identify the effects Peucedanum Japonicum Thunberg, we made up its extract and named it as KH020. Then, we employed common carotid artery ligation (CCAl) surgery for vascular dementia model (VDM), and two types doses of per os (per oral: p.o) treatment. Methods: To confirm prevention and recovery effects for vascular dementia, we treated two doses (100, 400 mg/kg) KH020 in male C57BL/6 mouse during 7 days. After treatment, animals were CCAl operated, and given time to recover. Then, animal were tested in a Y-maze and passive avoidance test. Results: Y-maze results demonstrated that cognition and memory performance were decreased in the VDM group, compared to the sham group. KH020 treatment abolished these effects significantly. The results from the passive avoidance test showed the same phenomenon, but it was not statically significant. Conclusions: Therefore, KH020 prevents the onset of vascular dementia. In future studies, we will evaluate KH020 in regard to alzheimer dementia.[원문 보기 클릭]

분노증후군과 주요우울장애의 뇌파 연구
초록 Objectives: We will discuss the differences on EEG results of Post-traumatic embitterment disorder (PTED) and Major depressive disorder (MDD). Methods: We measured EEG on 21 sites (Fp1, Fpz, Fp2, F7, F3, Fz, F4, F8, T3, C3, Cz, C4, T4, T5, P3, Pz, P4, T6, O1, Oz, O2) of PTED and MDD. Then, we compared the results. Results: There is a significant result of a beta band between PTED and MDD. Conclusions: We became aware of the differences on EEG results of PTED and MDD. 노인성우울증에 대한 한방 집중치료 프로그램의 효과
초록 Objectives: As the elderly population grows and the prevalence of depression increases, the incidence of geriatric depression disorder will continue to increase. The effect of an intensive Korean medicine treatment program on geriatric depression disorder was studied. Methods: Geriatric depression disorder patients who received treatment over a period of three years were reviewed, with the geriatric depression score (GDS) used as the primary outcome. The intensive Korean medical treatment program applied to the geriatric depression disorder patients consisted of herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion, meditation, qigong exercises, and reminiscence therapy. Results: The GDS scores of patients who received the intensive Korean medical treatment program decreased from an average of 19.57 (±5.52) to 15.76 (±6.99) and there was a significant difference. Conclusions: When the intensive Korean medical treatment program was applied to geriatric depression disorder patients, the symptoms of depression improved. This treatment program will be helpful for improving symptoms in patients and can be applied by trained clinicians.[원문 보기 클릭]

치매 한의진단 평가도구 적용 연구
초록 Objectives: Patients with dementia are increasing in Korea. So the importance of accurate diagnosis and treatment of dementia is growing. In this paper, we evaluated the result of employing the Korean medical diagnostic pattern as a tool in clinics. Methods: Patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease were evaluated using the Korean medical diagnostic pattern tool.Results: The number of patients with liver-kidney yin deficiency pattern/syndrome was 35. Analyzing the ratio difference between the 'liver-kidney yin deficiency' group and the 'not liver-kidney yin deficiency' group revealed that the ratio of the responses to the fourth question was less than zero. The ratio of the responses to the fifth, seventh, and eight questions were all less than 10%. The ratio of the responses to the first and second questions were greater than 30%.Conclusions: Of the six diagnostic patterns, liver-kidney yin deficiency was the greatest in the study subjects. The fourth question in the liver-kidney yin deficiency tool tests for the lack of appropriateness whereas the fifth, seventh, and eight questions test for lack of discrimination. Economic evaluation of manual therapy for musculoskeletal diseases
초록 INTRODUCTIONManual therapy is the non-surgical conservative management of musculoskeletal disorders using the practitioner's hands on the patient's body for diagnosing and treating disease. The aim of this study is to systematically review trial-based economic evaluations of manual therapy relative to other interventions used for the management of musculoskeletal diseases. METHODS AND ANALYSISRandomised clinical trials (RCTs) on the economic evaluation of manual therapy for musculoskeletal diseases will be included in the review. 한의병증에 대한 신경정신과적 증상 기술 연구
초록 Objectives: This study aimed to develop a standard understanding of neuropsychiatric symptoms and signs of Disease Pattern Identification/syndrome in Korean Medicine. Methods: We investigated various published articles, and the proposals are based on a comparative analysis between Korean medicine literature and DSM5, ICD-10. To improve our understanding, we engaged in a consultation through discussions with the advisory committee. Results: We describe the physical and neuropsychiatric symptoms in a modern sense of the major dis-ease Pattern in Korean Medicine. We also proposed a profound understanding of the neuropsychiatric symptoms and signs of Disease Pattern Identification/syndrome in Korean Medicine. Conclusions: Compared with DSM5, ICD-10, the system of neuropsychiatric diagnosis in Korean medi-cine, could be profoundly organized into a system in a modern sense. It would be helpful to apply this understanding to clinical practices. There are several points of consideration in this study. The system of neuropsychiatric diagnosis in Korean medicine cannot be a perfect match for DSM5 or ICD-10. In addition, we could not reach a complete consensus on the disease pattern. 한약처방 JSB가 구금스트레스로 우울증을 유발한 생쥐의 행동과 생체지표에 미치는 영향
초록 Objectives: Depression is a mood disorder showing low energy, loss of interest, anhedonia, and anxiety.It affects a patients' daily life. This disease is considered a social problem because the patient may commit suicide in extreme cases. JSB is composed of 12 Korean medicinal herbs. It has been prescribed to patients with depression. The objective of this study is to investigate anti-depressive effects of JSB on restraint stress-induced depression in a mouse model. Methods: Depression was induced by restraint stress. Mice were orally administered JSB at 10, 20, or 40 mg/kg for 14 days. Forced swimming test (FST) and open field test (OFT) were performed. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) mRNA level was measured by real time-PCR. Plasma levels of corticosterone and serotonin were measured by ELISA. Blood levels of AST and ALS were measured using a biochemical analyzer. Results: JSB treatment significantly reduced the immobility time in FST. BDNF mRNA level was increased by JSB treatment in the hippocampi of mice. Although the expression of TNF-α was also increased by JSB, such increase was not statistically significant. 초록 Introductions:Depression is the top 13 disease burden, has a high recurrence rate, and is a major factor in suicide. Antidepressants, considered as a priority treatment for depression, have many side effects and are highly non-compliant and there are are many patients with treatment-resistant depression. Therefore, many studies have been conducted on other treatments such as herbal medicine. Lespedeza cuneata is a plant with various effects, but the effect on depression has not been studied yet. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the ef-fect of Lespedeza cuneata G. Don in an astrocyte reduced mouse model of de-pression through L-alpha aminoadipic acid (L-AAA) injection. Methods:The main components of Lespedeza cuneata were confirmed through ultra-high performance liquid chromatography. Depression model mice were made by injecting L-AAA into the prefrontal cortex. The mice were transplanted a guide cannula after an adaptation period of 1 week, and L-AAA was injected one week later. Lespedeza cuneata at doses of 300 mg/kg and 600 mg/kg, and distilled water were orally administrated to mice for 16 days. 뇌전증의 한의학적 임상치료 국내 연구 동향 분석
초록 Objectives: To review research trends in the treatment of epilepsy with Traditional Korean Medicine Methods: Thirteen studies were selected by searching OASIS, RISS, SIENCEON, KISS, KoreaMed, and KMBASE from 2000.01.01 to 2021.08.28. Results: Studies were analyzed by year, format, publication site, age of patient, treatment method, follow-up study, herbal treatment, acupuncture, and limitations. Analysis confirmed that oriental medical treatment was sufficiently effective in relieving symptoms of epilepsy. Conclusions: Acupuncture and herbal medicine could be considered to relieve symptoms of epilepsy. However, due to some limitations in those studies, more in-depth and broader research is needed in the future.[원문 보기 클릭]

중국에서의 약침을 활용한 불면증 치료 임상논문 연구동향
초록 Objectives: The purpose of this study was to research the trend related to pharmacopuncture for insomnia in China for further development of pharmacopuncture in Korea. Methods: This study reviewed and analyzed 21 Chinese journals related to pharmacopuncture 2013∼ 2019 sourced with the following keywords in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). ‘Shimian’, ‘Wuewei zhushe’, ‘Shuizhen’, ‘Xuewei yaowu zhushe’, ‘Yaowu xuewei zhushe’, ‘Xuewei zhuyao’, ‘Xuezhu’, and ‘Xueweiyaowu zhuru’. Results: The following results were obtained in this study. 1. A total of 21 papers were selected, comprised of clinical research and case reports. 2. Pharmacopuncture was often used for insomnia, and as the medicine of injection, Salvia, Gastrodin, Acanthopanax, Hominis Placenta, Qingkailing, Shenmai, Bozhi Glycopeptide, Fufang Danggui, Vitamin B12, and Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride were used. 3. In combined treatments, acupuncture, chiropractic, auricular sticking, and herbal medicine were used. 4. It was more effective compared to conservational acupuncture therapy. Conclusions: It was established that they have efficiency to treat insomnia with pharmacopuncture in China, but there were limitations in this study, so we need more research to identify new medicines for neuropsychiatric diseases.[원문 보기 클릭]
